How to Use

Step 1

Centre the pad on the orbital sander's backing plate and apply drops of compound to the microfibre.

Step 2

Spread slowly in cross movements over a 60 x 60 cm area

Step 3

Work at medium-high speed with moderate pressure until the defect disappears

Step 4

Remove residues with a microfiber cloth and, on dark colours, refine with a finishing pad and fine polish.

FAQs

More cut with less heat. Microfiber removes material more aggressively than the blue SDO's firm foam, but the fibers dissipate temperature better because they don't retain heat like dense foam. In practice, you can correct deeper defects in fewer passes and with less risk of overheating the clear coat.

In light colours such as silver or white, the cutting microfiber finish may be sufficient for many jobs. In dark colours such as black or dark blue, a slight visible haze is likely to remain that requires a refining step with black SDO or a fine finishing and polishing pad. Evaluate under inspection light before deciding.

During the session, use compressed air or a soft-bristled brush to dislodge compound accumulated between the pads. At the end of the job, you can hand wash with warm water and a little mild detergent, rinse well, and let air dry. Avoid washing machines and fabric softeners, which degrade the fibers and the bond to the foam interface.
