Intermediate Polishing with Total Control

Gradual Polish-Releasing CCS Alveoli

While a conventional pad absorbs the polish into the foam and wastes it, the partially closed cells capture the product on the surface and release it progressively with each pass.

Double Layer that Works 10% Cooler

The two-density foam HDO construction with a central ventilation chamber reduces lateral movement and actively dissipates heat, which decreases fogging and the micro-marring that overheating creates on sensitive clear coats

Chamfered Edge that Eliminates Skipping and Rolling

The 70° angle combined with the CCS cells reduces surface tension between the pad and the panel, maintaining flat and stable contact even in curved and contoured areas where smooth pads tend to bounce

Lake Country HDO Orange CCS Pad, intermediate polishing pad with CCS technology

Medium-density foam pad with CCS Technology (Collapsed Cell Structure, partially closed cells that control polish release) and dual-layer HDO construction. 70° beveled edge and central ventilation chamber. Runs 10% cooler than conventional pads. Designed for long-throw orbital polishers such as Rupes or Griot's BOSS. Ideal for light to medium cut polishing and one-step work. Globally patented. Available in various sizes.

How to Use

Step 1

Centre the polishing pad on the orbital sander and apply polish to the surface indentations.

Step 2

Distribute at low speed in cross movements to apply the product to the CCS cells

Step 3

Work at medium speed with light to moderate pressure until the polish is transparent

Step 4

Clean the cavities with a bristle brush or compressed air before applying the product to the next panel.

FAQs

If you feel that you use too much polish per session or that the pad absorbs the product before you can completely work the panel, the CCS version solves these two problems. The pockets keep the product available on the surface longer and reduce the skipping that happens when a smooth foam loses lubrication. If you are already happy with the smooth HDO, switching is not mandatory, but those who try CCS rarely go back.

The pockets will accumulate some compound residue, but a quick pass with a pad brush or a blast of compressed air in between panels deals with this effortlessly. At the end of the session, wash with a pad cleaner and a stiff nylon brush, rinse well, and allow to air dry. Maintenance is no more difficult than on a flat pad, just slightly different.

The HDO line was specifically designed for 15 and 21 mm long-throw orbital polishers, where the dual foam layers and balanced weight make a greater difference. It works on a short-throw DA, but you won't get the most out of the HDO construction. If your machine is a short-throw, the SDO version with CCS might be more suited to your equipment's performance.
